Study

Isaac is currently in the middle of diabetic research. He has chosen to participate in a trial/study with a medication that possibly helps the longevity of the islets after transplant. Our friend Rachel is currently with him and giving him an IV. It's very cool to have friends involved with this :) Later today he meets with the anesthesia team to talk about the best pain control during surgery. That will be the most of today's plans.

The sound heard round the world

This time next week my husband will be in the middle of his surgery in MN to remove his pancreas, spleen etc with islet cell transplant into his liver. I'm feeling a feeling that I can't even put any words to. I'm ready to be done with this. Half of me is going into that surgery and my heart is aching. Don't be surprised if you hear my battle cry on Monday morning. It may be the sound heard round the world.
